Abstract
Isolated dorsal carpometacarpal (CMC) dislocation of the index finger is extremely rare. The strong structural support of the second CMC joint explains why this dislocation is such a rare occurrence. We report a good result from a case of isolated dorsal dislocation of the second CMC joint treated by closed reduction and immobilization with a splint.
