Abstract
Purpose
To analyze the results of treatment of scapholunate ligament injuries detected by wrist arthroscopy. Materials and Methods: Seventeen cases were analyzed clinically and radiographically. We treated 15 cases by arthroscopic reduction and percutaneous k-wire fixation, and 1 case by arthroscopic debridement, and 1 case by arthroscopic reduction and percutaneous screw fixation. For functional evaluation, Green and O’Brien scores were used. For radiological evaluation, scapholunate angle and gap were analyzed. Results: Functional results were excellent or good in 14 patients according to the modified system of Green and O’Brien. Scapholunate dissociation was not observed at last follow up, and scapholunate angle and gap was not different. Most of scapholunate injuries were associated with distal radius fracture. Fourteen cases had the grade 2 of scapholunate laxity. Conclusion: Arthroscopic treatment for scapholunate ligament injuries detected by wrist arthroscopy is simple and valuable method.
