Abstract |
Purpose The clinical and radiologic results of the perilunar dislocations and fracture-dislocations treated by anatomical reduction and internal fixation have been investigated retrospectively according to Mayfield stage and Herzberg stage. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 15 cases of the perilunar dislocation and fracture dislocation between January 1991 and October 2003. Preoperative radiologic findings with or without operative finding were classified by Mayfield stage and Herzberg stage. The clinical outcome was assessed with Mayo wrist scores. Results: The average follow-up time was 21.1 months(12~39 months) in 15 patients. At final follow up, the Mayo wrist score revealed 10 excellent, 1 good, 3 fair and 1 poor result. The average score was 84.0(range 60~90), three patients had arthrosis in radiologic findings, nonunion of scaphoid developed in two patients. Conclusion: The relationship between preoperative staging system and clinical outcome was not revealed. The early reduction is considered as important prognostic factors for treatment of the perilunar dislocations and fracture-dislocations. |
