Abstract

Although avulsion of finger extensor from the base of distal phalanx is not uncommon, Avulsion fracture of the base of the index metacarpal by the tendon of extensor carpi radialis longus is rare injury. We describe an additional case of avulsion injury of extensor carpi radialis longus in which open reduction with internal fixation gave a satisfactory result.
