Abstract
An anterior interosseous nerve palsy occurring as complication after internal fixation of fracture of the distal radius shaft is presented. Surgical exploration showed that the bone cement was augmented at the under surfaces of the plate and around the screws. Anterior interosseous nerve palsy has been previously described as a complication after internal fixation of the middle and proximal forearm fractures. However, to our knowledge, this lesion has not been reported occurring after internal fixation of the distal radius shaft fracture, which treated with augmented bone cement, which may cause thermal damage in addition to other possible physical traumas.
