Abstract
Traumatic axial dislocation of carpus is a very rare injury that usually occurs through a week point between the third and fourth metacarpals and the capitate and hamate. The authors report one case of axial ulanr dislocation of carpus, subclassified peri-hamate, peri-pisiform. The patient was injured by compression machine which was work related. The authors treated with fasciotomies included carpal tunnel release, internal fixation with multiple K-wires, covered skin with groin flap and full thickness skin graft. After aggressive physical treatment, the wrist motion was recovered to nearly normal range, but pinch and grip power were remained below normal range at final follow-up examination.
