Abstract
Types of intraarticular comminuted fracture of distal radius and its treatment were variable. We suggested the treatment guideline in treating intraarticular comminuted fracture of distal radius with percutaneous pinning. Twenty four patients, twenty nine cases with intraarticular comminuted fracture of distal radius were treated with closed reduction and percutaneous pinning under the fluoroscopic image intensifier and followed up from May 1996 to october 1999 at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine, Korea. The results of this study were as follows: 1.The overall assessment showed excellent in 16 patients(55%), good in 6 patient(21%), and poor in 7 patients(24%) under the subjective and objective criteria of Demerit point system. 2.The good results were mainly correlated with early operation(within 1wk), less comminution of metaphysis, easy reducibility, immediate post-operative stability, early fingers motion and early wrist motion.
