Abstract
We had been analysed the end result of 21 cases of established Volkman's contracture which was treated at St. Mary's hospital since 1981. They were mild form in 6, moderate in 12 and severe form in 3 patients according to the Tsuge's classification, and treated with muscle-sliding operation, neurolysis or lengthening of tendons for mild & moderate deformities, but excision of fibrotic masses, neurolysis and boen shortening for severe forms. Their functional end results were favorable in young patient, with mild to moderate ischemic contracture but poor in severe forms.
